One-Line Bio

I am a graphic designer with lots of print experience plus a smattering of web. I recently relocated to San Francisco and am eager to continue my graphic design career. I'd be happy to bring my international experience, precise technical skills and natural artistic talent to your graphic design team.

I started my graphic design career while pursuing a degree in the same field at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Designing car ads for a local newspaper was creatively numbing, but it honed my skills and sharpened my quick eye for detail. After graduation I was hired as in-house designer for a gourmet cookie company. During my two years at Byrd Cookie Company I expanded my illustration skills and learned the ins and outs of designing for production.

Feeling the urge to gain a better understanding of the world, I moved to Japan where I taught English for two years, followed by one year in Australia where I worked as a graphic designer for a large computer retailer. For the past two years I lived in Tanzania where I volunteered as an art teacher at a home for street children and managed an expatriate’s bar. While abroad, I was fortunate to have opportunities to do substantial volunteer design work for organizations I believe in like Democrats Abroad and Amani Children’s Home.

I am now living in San Francisco and am excited to continue my graphic design career.
